I am an ee customer and I get messages from ee upgrade a lot that I want to stop. The end of the messages say "Text STOP to 2040 to opt out from all text message marketing" but when I go to text 2040 I get a prompt to say I may be charged to text this number.
I can't see any way in my online account to opt out of these marketing messages.
Are ee customers charged to text 2040?

The warning is from your messaging app just saying that texts to short codes are usually charged. A text to EEs own short code should not be charged so you can ignore the warning.

Hi @1Bongobongo1,
Thanks for visiting the EE Community 🙂
If you are wanting to opt out of marketing texts if you send STOP to the number 2040 from your number as a text message that will opt you out.

Yes. It's a premium rate message number.
