Taken money again for this months bill

My bill was bounced back due to inefficient funds so paid directly through Apple Pay, however they have charged me again but due to not enough in the bank it has bounced back again. Why did they charge me again when I had paid? Tried to ring but couldn’t get through to a person to speak to

@Aoakley18-  once you have been billed it automatically starts the process of taking your money via your bank account and can not pay via a different means once billed and you have a DD setup.   all you have done is placed a payment on your account for when you next get billed next month as that will be taken towards that payment.
