Hi Leanne T,
As Customer13 says, EE need to look at the security steps in their payment systems - two factor authentication etc. This has happened so many times that EE should have a step by step guide how to get the money back instead of the customer having to contact two companies on top of EE. It feels like EE simply cannot be **bleep**d doing anything about it.

I have cancelled my direct debit until this is resolved, EE are aware of this scam but still allow the payments on our accounts its an utter disgrace!

Do a chargeback or contact your bank to do a fruad claim they will cancel and replace the card they will try and get the money back

It's not down to Sony alone. It is also down to EE being slack with their processes and customer protections. How can EE allow someone to charge things you have not requested without verifying the purchases with the owner of the phone number? That makes EE complicit in fraudulent activity.
I highly suggest EE find a fix to ensure this cannot happen. Not simply create a bar but create a proper verification process for these types of purchases.

Had exactly the same issue- EE sadly unhelpful for the first time in 20 years

In fairness, I had a top lad named Sam working on mine. He popped an email to Sony directly and got the money back into the account for me. My gripe is more with how EE make it so easily accessible. It's wrong on that front.
I'd keep pushing it and try making a complaint and you'll hopefully get a good egg like Sam who did great work to get the resolution.
