Selling an upgraded phone

Good afternoon,

I am due an upgrade on my current phone with EE. I am happy with my current phone but I am contemplating upgrading to a new device on contract and selling the phone to a friend who wants to buy it.
My question is, is this all okay to do? 
Also, would I need to do anything to the phone before selling them it as it will still be brand new in the box so I guess it can’t be locked or anything as I’ll just be using the new contract in my existing phone if that makes sense?

The phone belongs to EE for the first 6 months of any new or renewing contract. Selling it would be breaching your contract.

Short answer - No you are not ok selling it.
