Having been moved to EE from BT mobile without being given the option of staying with BT, I find that I am now financially worse off when going abroad. I now have to pay the daily roaming charge as my "account" is counted as starting after the cut off date. Surely my contract date should be the date I started with BT and not the date of the forced change over

Hello @Bassman42 ,
Welcome to the community,
Your contract will have started when you moved to EE and like everyone else, unless someone is on the old tariff, then from 7July 2021, same with upgrading, roaming is not included due to Brexit, unfortunately, but if you are roaming in Europe and 5 other countries, you can pay for roam further, which would be a lot cheaper than the daily roaming charge.

Whether you pay EU roaming charges depends solely on the date when your current EE contract started & any other time you spent with EE or any other network does not come into it.
You may alternatively buy the Roam Abroad Pass for £11.40 / month charged pro-rata.
