Returned upgrade but now on new contract!!!

I did an upgrade to the new fold 5 back in early August.
Received handset, decided to return. Got a dpd track ref told all would revert to previous plan 7 to 10 days after return and deposit would be returned.
Today 27th September text to say I've been moved to a new plan (the upgrade one I cancelled)
No refund, on the wrong plan and tracking confirms delivered to them mid August
Tried calling, haven't got up to am hour to get through..
Not happy, been a customer for years
