Hello, I just found out the same thing from EE. I don't remember calling this numer 0904 0121609.
Is this a joke? I now have £52 charged to my account.

Did you use Google to look for a phone number for an organisation????
In future always use the BT phone book website www.118500.com or yellow pages yell.com to find a telephone number
Google is a perfectly safe way to find companies' phone numbers, but don't just jump straight at the first - often sponsored - link.
Make sure of selecting the organisations own website, not any "contact us" or "get in touch" style third party. And any number prefixed 084, 087 or 09 is going to be at additional cost. Reputable organisations will use 080 (free) or 01/02/03 prefixed landline numbers

Unfortunately you followed this particular scam.
There was a "CLAIM NOW" button which initiated a call to : The premium number" - I couldn't screen grab the one before, because it actually stated "Free Call" - which you DID click.
It's a horrible scam, but be more aware, if someone is offering you £500 - why wouldn't everyone and their children would cash in on it.
You should turn off ALL premium numbers - because let's face it when do you or anyone dial a premium number!
Personally, I think all premium rate call should tell you before you connect. But argue that it was a scam, which stated "FREE CALL" - if you speak to them politely, explain it was a scam, they should refund you. But as I said the best advice is to TURN OFF PREMIUM RATE CALLS.
Sorry you got scammed. But at least you know why !
