I have within the last 4/5 month renewed my 24 month sim only contract which I currently use with my iPhone 12 mini however would like to upgrade to the new iPhone 16 pro, is there any way to do this whilst keeping my current sim only contract and paying the phone separately or do I need to upgrade into a phone and sim package? If so does this scrap my original sim only package as I would not want to be paying for them both. Thanks

@Owenmacd If you’re eligible to upgrade, then the new tariff will take over your old tariff and that would cease.
You can put your sim in any device you choose.

@Owenmacd To upgrade you’ll take out a new airtime tariff with the new device.
To keep your current sim only you could always order directly from apple and pay monthly for the device.

Ok thank you, so I’m clear a new airtime tariff would mean me paying for both sim cards until the original contract was up yes? If I was to order straight from Apple would my current sim only plan work with the new phone ? Thank you again

If you contact upgrades through 150, and say you would like to upgrade to the iphone 16 pro this should be possible; whatever they offer you will supersede your current SIMO contract. They might even be able to offer you a phone on your existing SIMO, by offering the device through their flex plan.
