Hi I paid £170 off my bill I have spoken to ee before my 1st bill was higher then thought. I owe 130 from.original which I will pay next Friday 6 September. Wondering as we are universal credit could we get a tarrif that cheaper and suit us

EE does have EE Basics | EE Social Mobile Tariff . If you are still within your min. term they might not let you switch to it yet. You'll need to ask CS.
