hi folks,

i have ordered an additional sim card on my account to be used by my mother. she is currently using an EE PAYG. How do I go about getting her current phone number put onto the contract sim?
I understand if both accounts were held by the same person this wouldn’t be an issue.

appreciate your help in advance

@Gonzo2 : Instead of ordering a new SIM you needed to do the switch from PAYG or Flex online using Switch to pay monthly and save . Your existing PAYG credit would have been carried over as credit towards your future bills. You would keep your existing SIM & no. The plan on it is just switched to contract.

However now you have ordered a separate SIM, you need to call CS to switch the PAYG no. to your new contract SIM.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Thanks for the quick response

thé problem I’m having is that the PAYG is in my mothers name and I want her added to my account for the discount. The switch to pay monthly would be a contract in her name.
is there a simple way to do this as I can still cancel the order of the new sim.

Hi @Gonzo2,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

When you receive the new SIM, please get in touch on 150 to transfer the number.

The team will need to run through a security check with your mother to authorise the transfer.

Thanks

James

Yes, you could than call CS with both of you available on the line to effect a change of ownership. If you can't do it together CS will give the current owner a password for you to quote when you call.
