Hi

I currently pay about £65 a month for my phone the contract expired in November

happy to keep the handset for another 12 months so have seen a sim only deal for £20 if I sign up for this I assume I will only pay £20 a month rather than £65 and then if it’s a 12m deal after the 12m can upgrade my phone again then ?

I have bt sport currently on my phone but it doesn’t seem to offer this as an extra assume if move to SIM only this will be removed

thanks

All correct.

If your Sim Only is a 12 Month Contract you maybe able to Upgrade again after 6 Months.

Have a look at some of the 24 Month Sim Only Contracts, these may be able to get Sim Only plus a Smart Benefit which could be a way forward into to keeping your BT Sports Benefit.

If you move to a SIM-only plan from a handset-plan, the minimum term only applies to your EE subscription, not the plan - you can revert to a handset-plan anytime during the 12month term.

The eligibility rules are on Page 5 of the price guide - here

If you have been in a phone contract before on your number, you can drop to simo and you can renew penalty free to a handset at any time. New customers on sim have to wait six months before being eligible to upgrade to a handset contract as they will have to prove their credit worthiness in that six months period. Also, there are simo smart plans  on a twelve months term too.
