Letter for debt recovery but owe nothing?

Received a letter saying I owt £53.14 I’ve checked my account and spoke to someone who said I owe nothing and my bills are paid via direct debit.. however this has now effected my credit score?

A "credit score" is a marketing term dreamed up by some CRA's to sell additional services, it's otherwise meaningless outside a lender's internal process.
Was this letter from EE specifically, or a third party such as a debt management/recovery company?
