Leaving ee bill query

My contract ended on 3rd September 24 and I was told I could leave with no charges. I requested a pac code and received a text from ee saying " if I left today there would be zero charges and my final bill will show this".  I cancelled my direct debit and my switch to tesco mobile happened today 5th September 24.

I received a text from ee saying my final bill was ready.  My bill is £44.06 charges from 4th Sept to 3rd oct ?

I cant get through to customer services on the phone so I've had to fill out a webform complaint.

It's not an automated bill as it says thank you for being an ee customer?

I was told no notice had to be given as my contract had ended and I'd be charged zero. So why are they billing me for a month?

Sorry for long message.

Hi @angieo2905

You need to give 30 days notice to leave, your contract doesn't end your minimum contract term ends.

There is no account access on these forums and for more information you'll need to speak to EE CS.

Thanks

They told me I could leave after my contract ended with no notice. And sent me a text  saying if I leave my charge will be £0.

@angieo2905  Your contract ended on the 3rd and you switched on the 5th So you ran in to the following month before the switch. EE will bill you for the month ahead and then refund you up until you switched.   Ie the two days you had with EE before the switch to the new network.

@angieo2905 : When you were billed on 4th Sept you were still with EE & not yet with Tesco. So that bill still needs to be paid. You should not have cancelled your DD until everything was settled so you could pay that bill & the yet to be issued Final Bill which will credit most, if not all, of it back.

You should get the true Final Bill about a week after porting out.

@Northerner : No notice needs to be given when you leave by PAC after your min. term date..

Yes I requested a oac code on 3rd as didn't want to leave before my contract ended.

Thank you

I cancelled my DD because they sent me a text saying I owed nothing, otherwise I wouldn't have.  Glad to know no notice is required. Hopefully it'll all get sorted as i can still pay the bill online.  Appreciate your help and everyone else on here. 🙂

@angieo2905 : Requesting a PAC is not leaving; just an intention of leaving & indeed if unused it becomes void. You don't leave until the new network uses your PAC to port you no. to it.

They didn't send a text saying "you owed nothing" but saying " if you left today there would be zero charges". But you didn't leave that "today", you left 2 days later. In the meantime your billing date occurred committing you  to another month in advance.
