Late payment

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could help. I received a letter today to say my February bill is outstanding it's produced on the 9th and usually paid the 17th. I was told this is a late payment and will end up on credit file. I paid the balance today March 14th. We are applying for a Mortgage and this late payment will effect our chances significantly. Does anyone have any experience with this. EE couldnt tell me for sure if they will register this as a late payment.

Any input would be greatly appreciated,

Thank you

@andylloyd7  If you’ve received a letter about a late payment that’s not good.

Do you pay by direct debit or manually?

Hi Patt,

I pay manually but have now swapped to DD as of today. The payment was due Feb 17th and I paid today 14th March. I really thought I had paid it - My fault I know.

My concern is it is reported on my credit file and we are literally due to apply for our mortgage all the paperwork has been completed.

@andylloyd7   Provided you didn’t get cut off you will probably be ok as being cut off isn’t good at all especially if you need a clean credit report.  You’ll have to keep an eye on your credit report but credit reports are around 3 months behind.

Thank you Chris_B

That is a late payment & will incur a Late Payment Fee.
