Did you mean:

Insanely expensive ee plans

I am with this network for 12years,they used to be ok, affordable enough ,great coverage .

Why they have such a high prices? It is nuts

I was looking at pixel 7pro 128gb: ee ,they offered me it to upgrade for £54/£100 upfront for 5gb of data. If you do some maths, the monthly payments only for 5gb of data comes at £22,the rest is the phone cost.

My unlimited home broadband is £25,am i missing something

In the other hand i found on "Mobilephonesdirect website " ,the same phone/storage using Vodafone network at £37/month/250GB data, on a 24month contract ,with £59

Few months back,i asked an ee sales advisor, why an iphone at exactly the same price as another android phone costs an extra £8/month on the same plan/tariff,same "upfront ", the advisor said :is because the iPhone is more desirable ". I was blown away

Vodafone runs on 5g same as most of the networks.

  • I am thinking to move to a different network

There seems to be two comparisons here.

1: EE handset plans versus buying the phone outright & going SIM-only. The latter is usually cheaper, and is a lot easier than in the past.

2: EE plans compared with alternative networks - EE has never claimed to be the cheapest network, just make sure other operators offer a level of network service you are happy with.

What I'm pointing is: pixel 7pro is £849 to buy it sim free

On ee contract is £100 upfront at £54/month with 5gb of data. The data tariff itself, without the upfront fee and the phone ,will be £22.70.

A sim only package on ee website is £15 for 5gb of data on 24 months contract

I'm being offered an upgrade at £50 upfront & £59/month for 25GB of Data, I can't use my Bluelight or BT discount because I'm an existing customer but I can get 300GB of Data  with no upfront & only £39/month with O2!(Through a 3rd Party -Affordable Mobiles) makes no sense whatsoever!

Which phone are you looking at, @ShuF849?

Chris

Iphone 13- the best deal for the 128GB one is £50 upfront & £53/month for "only" 25GB! I've been with Orange/EE for nearly 20 years but there really doesn't seem to be an incentive to stay! This is the first upgrade of this year with my own deal coming to an end in a couple of months & basically if I move one I'll move both!

@Eddie78   And that’s £573 ( £286.50 each year ) over 2 years for the contract allowances. The phone on its own is  £749.  The tariff isn’t just for the allowance it’s also purchasing the device.    And at present that tariff has a £96 saving on it.     It might be last years device be it it still sells for £749 from apple.
