Insanely expensive ee plans

I am with this network for 12years,they used to be ok, affordable enough ,great coverage .

Why they have such a high prices? It is nuts

I was looking at pixel 7pro 128gb: ee ,they offered me it to upgrade for £54/£100 upfront for 5gb of data. If you do some maths, the monthly payments only for 5gb of data comes at £22,the rest is the phone cost.

My unlimited home broadband is £25,am i missing something

In the other hand i found on "Mobilephonesdirect website " ,the same phone/storage using Vodafone network at £37/month/250GB data, on a 24month contract ,with £59

Few months back,i asked an ee sales advisor, why an iphone at exactly the same price as another android phone costs an extra £8/month on the same plan/tariff,same "upfront ", the advisor said :is because the iPhone is more desirable ". I was blown away

Vodafone runs on 5g same as most of the networks.

  • I am thinking to move to a different network

I have the same issue, the prices are crazy.

Also they won't offer a retention discount on a phone contract even though we have 3 phones with them right now under the same account and have been with them for years.  Every other upgrade time I have gotten discounts on their standard costs.

It gets worse, if you ask about buying the phone outright on a plan they want to charge £942 when everyone else, including Google, charge £849.

Oh and I could actually buy the phone directly from Google and then get an EE SIM only contract for a combined monthly cost that is LOWER than their equivalent phone contract cost by over £10 and it comes with more data.

Why on earth would I stay with them for the privilege of paying over £15 a month more than on Vodafone or Three.

The poor call person had no answers and seemed as perplexed as I was.

@Eddie78   And what’s that costs going directly to Vodaphone.   You’re using a 3rd party seller to get that deal and they are aways cheaper than going directly to the network.   And is that cost the standard 36 months to purchase the device and 24 months for the tariff ?

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

@dpuamuishu  It’s always cheaper to purchase a device outright and go sim only.

Amazon offers 12 months plan with 0% intrest and is not a loan

No its not, my current contract that is ending was cheaper at the time as was my previous one.

There are are also deals available now with other networks that are at most equivalent in price.

Yes, that is a 3rd party seller. I always used to upgrade using Carphone, buymobiles or mobilephonesdirect, but EE decided not to sell through 3rd party sellers as it was always cheaper than their website.

I have no clue why would anyone buy directly from Vodafone, when 3rd party sellers are always cheaper.  I understand that some people prefer street retailers as they can try the phone before buying.

Agreed but all three main alternative networks have significantly cheaper prices directly on their website.

On Three I can get the same phone on a 24month contract with unlimited data cheaper than the 25gb contract EE were offering me as an upgrade.  For equivalent data it is much worse, £60/month on EE Vs £45/month on Three.  That's direct Three prices not a 3rd party discount site.

I don't even expect EE to beat other prices, they can be more expensive and I would stay but not at the ridiculous cost difference they currently have.

@dpuamuishu   Obviously it depends on what sim tariff you think you need.     The cost of the device going directly has no extra charge on it so that’s a saving.   Now all that remains it’s the tariff.  It’s cheaper to get a device outright and a sim only deal.       If you think otherwise then stop looking at the most expensive sim only.

You're clearly working for ee or you're their number-one fan

We are talking about ee expensive tariffs sim only or phone contract ,no matter, they are more expensive than other providers

My point was, why we should be paying more for less ? 12 years being an ee customer, having 2 contractcs on pay monthly and ee won't even roll over your internet data, greedy company that's all I'm saying.

I hope they will end up like Sky, nobody need them
