I have been charged over £100 for calls to 0843 numbers by EE who told me it was a scam but l don’t understand how or why. I have not rung them

Welcome to the EE Community
We have no access to your account via these forums to see the details of the call, but have you tried googling the number on the bill as that can sometimes help with finding out which company the number belongs to. 
The call on your bill should be itemised for the time and date also which you may be able to then check in your call logs.
Do you have a spend cap set up on your number? As if not I would recommend setting up a spend cap moving forward as that will help protect you from outside of allowance charges for things like premium calls.
