I received multiple calls related to mobile sales promotions. After initially disconnecting many calls, I eventually requested an offer via email to verify their legitimacy. They sent multiple emails regarding mobile offers with SIM provider details from the domain "promotions@salescurrysonline.co.uk>". Also they used to call me from (+44)02071936059 this number. Believing it to be genuine, I responded to their call and informed them that if all details (SIM plan, contract, etc.) were satisfactory, I would consider their offer. They requested bank details for direct debit setup via mobile keypad. The next day, a mobile phone was delivered via DPD courier service. A few hours before delivery, they sent a WhatsApp message regarding product details they needed once I received the package, including photos and package cover information. After receiving the package, they called to confirm delivery status. Upon opening the package, I noticed it was not the iPhone 15 Pro Max as expected, but a Samsung S24. I sent photos to them via WhatsApp (I have proof of this chat). They immediately called, claiming a mistake in the courier delivery address during packing. They offered to exchange the device within 1-2 days or let me keep the Samsung S24. I declined both options, and they promised to deliver a new one within a day. They said they would send a person to my address within 30 minutes. To verify the person's authenticity, they provided an OTP. After OTP verification, the order was accepted, and the person left. Subsequently, there were no updates despite my follow-ups. Last month, I received a recovery letter from Moorcroft Group informing me of a pending payment with EE. After following up with EE, they internally created a case as scam also this account as a scam so they close after few weeks. EE was unable to identify the account using my mobile number or email but identified it using the first transaction card number and old address. I have now moved to a new address: *******************. I was unaware of this account being opened in the background. This incident has negatively affected my credit score by 50 points, impacting my ability to obtain mortgages or loans. EE is now asking me to pay more than £1,000 as an account closing charge, a suggestion made by their customer support team. They have also blacklisted the mobile device. The scammers are still active and recently called with a new offer.
How to solve this an get credit score as previous.
