Hello,
I am looking for a mobile contract that suits my needs. I use mobile services frequently when I am in the UK, but I occasionally travel abroad for several months at a time and do not use my SIM card during those periods.
Therefore, I need a contract that:
- Provides high data allowances or unlimited data.
- Allows me to terminate the contract early without any additional fees or penalties.
Could you please confirm if such a contract is available? Alternatively, is there an option to temporarily suspend the contract while I am abroad, so I am not paying for services I am not using?
I appreciate your assistance and look forward to hearing about the options that EE can provide to meet my needs.

@m_tsyurak : You say "when I am in the UK". Are you not a resident of the UK? If you're not, you probably won't be able to buy a contract from EE but will have to settle for PAYG.
If you could get a contract it wouldn't be suspendable.

I am currently in the UK on a visa. What is the best deal you would recommend?

Hi @m_tsyurak
EE don't suspended services unless you're in the armed forces.

In essence as @XRaySpeX said PAYG but then you still need to make chargeable calls or text to ensure the line is kept active.
Alternatively consider Sim only but then again you cannot suspend the service.
Thanks

If there are no contracts that can be terminated without penalties or additional payments, could you recommend a plan that I can activate specifically for social media and YouTube?

Yes, PAYG.
There are 1 month contracts that can be terminated FoC with 30 days notice but unless you have a UK credit history & can pass a credit check you can't take a contract with EE & probably no other network.

There are 1-month rolling contract options but you wouldn't be able to "pause" or suspend your service or anything like that when you travel abroad. You would either have to continue paying or give EE 30 days notice to cancel the contract when you don't want/need it. This would also involve losing the number when cancelling, unless you port it out to a different network to keep it or move it to PAYG before leaving the UK.
An Unlimited Essentials plan on a 1 month rolling contract is £35pm, with Speeds of up to 100 Mbps (capped). As a contract it continues until you give the required notice to cancel as mentioned above.
A PAYG Unlimited Pack is also £35pm, with Speeds of up to 25 Mbps (capped). This requires topping up monthly and as @Northerner has mentioned above requires chargeable use regularly to keep the SIM active when not being used. You can also save 10% on this plan by topping up automatically with a card.
