EE 5gee contract

I had an 18month contract for 5gee which ended recently. When I received the letter about minimum contract coming to an end I called and changed to a month to month contract once the minimum term ended.

It now shows I have an overdue bill for a 19th month at the higher cost. Is this normal?

EE's mobile contracts are not fixed term ones that end on a particular date, that would also mean service would terminate with it.

They are ongoing rolling contracts with a minimum contractual term, after which cancellation notice can be given without cost if so desired.

Unless you specifically asked to change to a SIM-only or lower-priced plan, then your contract has correctly continued on the same basis as before. You should get a 10% discount after 3 months, or could change to a SIM-only plan if you'd prefer.

Yes, as soon as I received a letter telling me the minimum term was ending I called and changed to a sim only month to month, exactly the same unlimited data but at half the cost. Somehow though, I have a bill for a 19th month at the original cost.

Does your latest bill show the requested change of plan taking effect at a later date? You should query this with CS who have access to your individual account.
