Dishonesty; from EE
EE just told us that my wife’s phone contacts ended six months ago BUT we still being charged the same amount of money. So I asked WHY? They said because of the small print says they can.

Asking for an explanation why are we paying for the phone when our 24 months ended and the phone has been paid off, unfortunately they can charge until we call and Change the tariff.
Which means renew contract
All my life I upgraded or changed suppliers - when phone was paid off that’s it the money was reduced.

So I asked for the PAC number and called another supplier and they CONFIRMED that once the phone is paid off (any tariff)
The money will be reduced, unless we upgrade to a new phone?!

I DIDN’T EXPECTED THIS KIND OF SERVICE FROM A REPUTABLE COMPANY…….

@Sammiah : EE's traditional mobile contracts have no concept of paying off the handset. You agreed to pay the same price for the full duration of the total bundled contract. There will however be a 10% discount 3 months after the end of min. term. You may always choose to upgrade your contract to a cheaper SIM-Only contract from the last 30 days of your contract term.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

Traditional mobile contracts have always operated this way. You commit to a particular monthly fee that covers your airtime & device loan, on a minimum term basis.

It's only the past few years that there has been a move towards separating your airtime from the device loan, and having 2 independent contracts with separate payments. The finance loan on a fixed-term basis, your airtime on a minimum-term.

All users have been receiving text messages for over a year now, that's sent out as you approach the end of your minimum term and which outlines your options. The choice on what to do has to be yours as the account holder - although it's worth pointing out, the logical consequence of "contract end" is also "service end".
