I’ve received a text message to say that my direct debit has failed and I had forgotten that I’ve closed the account that it is usually paid from. The text advises not to pay manually and that if the dd fails again I will be charged £5.
When I go online it says that I can’t change my dd account as the payment is due. If I just pay it will I be charged the £5?
Thanks

Yes, as EE will auto try the DD again cuz they don't know you arbitrarily cancelled it at your end. Best to pay the bill manually & take the £5 hit for your mistake.
