Have you tried simply looking at your bill to see what you have been charged?
You might have been charged extra for doing something that wasn't included in your package.
View your monthly EE Mobile or EE Broadband bill
You would be best suited speaking to EE about your bill directly.

@Abdullahrana_7 : This month will be the 1st with this year's contractual CPI + 3.9% = 7.9% annual increase. Could it be down to that?

£25 > £26.66 is a 6.6% increase, a shade under the 7.9% price rise amount.
Unless there is some rounding going on, the answer will clearly lie in checking the bill breakdown.

@bristolian : I realise that but it must be a contributory factor this being April, the 1st month of the price increase.
It is most likely that the OP is quoting his original contract price as £25 VAT-inclusive but is seeing the April price increase as £1.66 ex-VAT. I notice that EE is most inconsistent in quoting prices VAT-inclusive in some places but the same price ex-VAT in others.
Now do some maths! £1.66 +VAT = £1.99 = 7.96% of £25. About right for the annual increase with rounding error.
