Data Stacked

Hello everyone,

My phone contract expires on the 15th of this month, and is an all rounder unlimited data plan. I chose to upgrade recently to a SIM only 24 month 100GB plan.

When checking my account it is displaying my current unlimited data plan as ‘active’ and my 100GB data plan as ‘stacked’. Does this mean I will be double charged for this data?

I just want to ensure that my data plan will switch over correctly once my new contract comes into effect on the 15th of this month so that I don’t end up with extra charges.

Thanks for any help in advance!

@Nate1244 Thanks for coming back with the information.

Your bill being generated on the 7th each month will be the reason why yesterday/today it shows your next bill is in October.
The app wont mention the payment date of the 15th.

This bill generated yesterday will still come out in full on the 15th Sept by DD as usual.
As you are dropping your plan cost, you should find a pro-rata adjustment on your October bill to reflect this change.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, I spoke with EE earlier this week to confirm I am shifting to a SIM only, but my app is still keeping my monthly payment the same which it shouldn’t be if I’m staying the same (as in it’s saying my September payment and predicted October payment is the same as before), however I know the EE services say this rate will not stay the same (will reduce in price significantly) if you switch to SIM only! I have to say I am a little bit confused.

Hello,

My contract ends on the 15th of September as an all inclusive 24 month package for my current phone. When this ends, I have requested to change to a SIM only 24 month data plan which is much cheaper.

When I check my bill using the 150 text function it says my next bill will be generated next month with no mention of a September payment. However when I check via the app or website it says my next payment is the same as my usual payment on my OLD contract, and it predicts the same cost for my October payment.

I do have an email to confirm that I am switching to a SIM plan and have saved the details of this. This email also states that today it should have given me an estimate for my new bill but this is not the case.

I’m honestly just a bit confused with how this works - will the text/app functions update as soon as my new contract start date for my SIM plan roll around? Or has it for some reason kept me on my old plan as well as my new plan?

Any help would be appreciated as I don’t want to be double charged, nor do I want to be paying the same prices as before (hence the shift to a SIM only plan).

Thank you in advance!

@Nate1244
The app is showing only an "estimated" bill based on what your previous bill was showing. Once your plan actually changes over your app will show the new plan and your next bill (assuming it's in October) will reflect the change to the new SIM only plan backdated to the 15th Sept change date.

Which date is your bills usually generated/allowance restart each month? And which date is your DirectDebit usually taken? These dates will remain the same when your plan changes.

Hi,

Thank you for your response. My bills are usually generated on the 7th, with payment coming out on the 15th of each month.

Hi,

Thank you for your time and help, this makes sense to me. So just for final clarity, my next DD on the 15th of this month would be the last payment on my old plan cost, but this will then automatically shift over when my new plan comes into place from the 16th of September onwards. Therefore, my October payment will be the first on my new plan rate?

Thanks again and I apologise if I repeated myself, I suffer with anxiety and just wanted to make sure I was doing things correctly so I wasn’t overcharged/double charged.
