My minutes/data plan contract ends on 21/6/25, my phone loan ends 21/6/26 and I want to move my number to an o2 sim. As I pay the plan and phone on separate direct debits I assumed I could just use the PAC to move my number over and continue paying the phone loan for another year but when I request the PAC it says I’ll need to pay the remaining phone loan in one lump sum. Can anyone help clarify?

Hey there @JS1788.
Welcome to the EE Community 😊
Requesting a PAC does not initiate any cancellation on your account, this would only take effect once you give it to a new provider and the transfer process completes.
PACs are valid for 30 days, and if you don't use them in this period they expire and your existing plan will continue on as normal.

@JS1788 You have to wait till your airtime contract is up before you request a PAC, doing so before will mean your moving out before the minimum contract term of the airtime contract so will result in a payment to pay off the device.

Does the transfer/contract cancellation not happen when the PAC is actually used, not requested? I will try to request when contract ends but not sure it will let me whilst the original PAC is still valid.

That’s not what I asked, I understand how a PAC works I haven’t used it yet, just requested it…..will I be charged the full amount of the phone loan if I switch once my line rental contract ends? Or will I be able to continue paying the monthly direct debit whilst having the line rental with another provider?

@JS1788 You’ll not be charged if you use the pac after your airtime contract expires. You asked for it before so you got the relevant information at this time.

The bit you are talking about is this:
https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/manage-use/pay-monthly/flex-pay
If you cancel your plan after the 24 month commitment period but before your 36 device payments are complete, you can continue to make payments for your device until the agreement naturally ends. If you cancel your plan within the 24 month minimum term, you may be charged early termination fees and you’ll have to pay off the remaining Flex Pay balance in full. You can choose to pay off the remaining Flex Pay balance at any time.
So as long as you PAC out after your minimum term ends, you don't have to pay off your phone immediately. If it's even a day before, EE will charge you the full loan amount.
