I am trying to change my current plan, due to end on 9th September 2024, to a new SIM only plan, but am unable to. I have calculated that I am within the 45 days required to the end of my plan, so the option should be there, but it isn't either online or in the app.
I would prefer to stay with EE, but if this isn't working, coupled with the recent 4G/5G coverage issues in my area, I may look to leave.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why I can't find the information I need?

@IronDNKY , are you on a phone contract or already on a sim only contract?
I would suggest ringing customer service unless someone else has any ideas.

@IronDNKY even if you was able to do this, your Sim only wouldn’t start until you completed the full term of your current contract as that’s a full device contract. Only by upgrading with a new device will it commence before the minimum term.

I currently am on a monthly phone contract, and am due an upgrade, but don't need a new phone, I just want to change my plan, to save some money!!

@IronDNKY , this will only happen once your minimum term has ended, so on the 9th September can you change your plan., or at least your new plan will start, as you are still within the minimum term until then.

You should be able to request an "upgrade" from 30days prior to your minimum term end-date, which in your case sounds like 9th August or thereabouts.
If that "upgrade" is a change of plan, then that will be pending until the end of minimum term before taking place on 09/09 in your case.

Indeed so. Historically, the upgrade window was also 45days, but this was changed a couple of months back as per the Stars post.
