Changing direct debit for one plan

Hi, my partner would like to start paying for his own phone and I can’t find any way to swap his plan over and change the direct debit without both our plans changing over. How do I swap his over so he is only paying for his own phone as plan?

You will have to ring customer service with you both there and they should be able to help.

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

Assuming you're on pay-monthly, the payment method is set at account-level and applies to all phones on a given account.

Your partner could make manual payments using a credit/debit card a few days before each bill date and this would only leave the outstanding amount to be taken by DD.

Otherwise, if you want separate direct debits you will need to have separate billing accounts, with your partner's phone undergoing a change of legal ownership. Be aware this will remove the ability to share data between phones on what will no longer be the same billing account.
