Hi,
I recently switched to EE, primarily because it was promoted as having the best mobile data and roaming speeds. I moved from Vodafone, expecting an improvement, but unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case.
In the two months since I made the switch, I've been experiencing significant issues with both data speeds and especially with roaming. While I previously enjoyed a consistent 5G connection with Vodafone, I'm now often stuck with 3G on EE—yes, 3G is still a thing, apparently!
Today was particularly frustrating. I desperately needed a reliable connection while traveling, and the 3G connection left me unable to perform essential tasks. Being in a foreign country, needing to navigate or communicate, and being unable to do so is not only inconvenient but also concerning.
Given these ongoing issues, what are my options? Is it possible to exit my contract early due to the poor service?
Thank you for your understanding and prompt assistance.

@doingbits1 : What foreign country are you in?
Mobile signals are not guaranteed.
If you are wanting to cease your mobile contract completely you need to phone EE giving 30 days notice of cancellation of your contract. Otherwise if you intend to move to another network, either taking your existing no. with you or not, get your PAC or STAC respectively from EE & give it to your new provider. If you are still within your min term you will be liable to pay early termination fees for the rest of the term. It will basically be months left x monthly charge - 4%.

EE have switched their 3G RAN off since January 2024, but roaming could be an interesting case.
Do you have any specific examples of countries/networks where you've experienced 3G service? And whether switching to an alternative local network has restored 4G/5G coverage?

@doingbits1 Try a manual network search.
EE don’t have a network outside the UK so it’s not EEs network you are using when roaming so not their 3G service you are using which EE have switched off within the UK.
Roaming is optional not contractual so that will not get you out of the contract unless you pay it off.
