Cancel contract due to Roaming Pass price increase?

When signing up to your 24-month mobile contract recently, the deciding factors were the price of the plan itself, as well as the price of the addons advertised as benefitting EE users. Your recent Roaming Pass price announcement, increasing the price from £15 to £25 per month from October is not only not in line with the Consumer Price Index, but is also a price increase outside of your annual price increase in March.

As such, please confirm EE customers can cancel their contracts without incurring penalties.

@Caravanman1   Or you take out a tariff that has a smart benefit. This smart benefit can  be the roaming pass.

Hi @Caravanman1

Thanks for coming here.

From 18th October the Roam Abroad Pass will increase to £25. This will apply to new and existing EE customers. We're reflecting increasing costs in providing the ability to roam for our customers

People with Smart Plans or inclusive extra's will continue to benefit from the pass.

If you would like to look into switching to a plan that incudes the Roam Abroad Pass as an Inclusive Extra, please call us on 150.

Hi Leanne,

As I asked you on a previous post, could you or someone at EE explain what the ‘increasing costs’ to roaming charges are please?
I used roaming back in March and it cost £10 - good value. From next month it is £25 - a 150% increase. Why?

I think you owe loyal customers an  explanation- not just ‘call us to change your plan’.

In March the Roam Abroad Pass was £15.

I couldn’t agree more it’s bad enough that they don’t do a weekly pass for when you are on holiday but to put it up by this much is ridiculous, think it’s time to look elsewhere

Totally understand where you are cpming from, when I took my contract it states in the t's and c's 'other prices, plans and add ons may change during your contract but will tell you about important changes in advance', this is covered by that statement.

I certainly won't sign with EE again after this.

When I signed with EE it was a £10 add on, now it's £25 with 10 months, I certainly won't trust EE again and will cancel my contract ASAP.

I think it's disgraceful to have such a price hike. We all understand there maybe a small increase during a 24 month contract. I won't be signing with EE again.

I can see it changing soon for all networks t o be honest, it is a feature they can change and increase at anytime, will not get free roaming at any network soon enough
