Can't add a line for my Apple Watch

So I've recently moved to the UK and the first thing I did was get a contract with EE back in September 2024. I had my own iPhone 15 Pro and I just got a SIM contract with them. A few months later I thought about getting an Apple Watch contract with them, but was denied probably because my credit score isn't that good yet (after all I've lived here only for 6 months). So I went and bought an Apple Watch outright at Apple Store thinking there will not be any problem to get a paired plan for it, I mean it's just £5 per month or so. Guess what? I was denied again. Why is it so hard to get a £5 paired plan for an Apple Watch that I already bought? I spoke with the support and they fobbed me off with the standard "there might be different reasons of why you can't get an additional line". But it isn't even a full additional line, it's just a clone of my existing SIM. Is there really nothing that can be done?

P.S. I will definitely be enquiring O2 and Vodafone if they could make this work for me and will probably switch

@simonsab  it is an additional line and it’s not a clone of your Sim in your phone. The watch is a separate contract to your phone plan. It is just linked that account level so calls to your phone and texts can be received on the watch.   You set this all up via the watch app.  It’s also £7 per month and you get 10Gb of data just for the watch

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Sorry my bad, thought it was a clone. And yet I can’t see why I can’t get a £7 / month contract for the Watch that I bought outright

@simonsab what happens when you try and set it up via the Watch app on your phone ?

This 😞 I spoke with the customer support, they didn’t elaborate much further besides implying it’s due to the credit score and saying “try again in 3 months”
