Asset watch

I had a new contract, and unfortunately had to sell it to pay towards my mums funeral. The company that I’ve sold it to has said it’s got an asset watch on it. They won’t pay me or return my phone back. Any idea how I can get this taken off please? I’m desperate and hoping it can be done

Hi @rhianj2379,

Welcome to the Community!

I'm so sorry to hear about your mum.

Unless you were advised othewise when taking out your plan, we will own your device for the first six months, which is what sounds like what has happened here. If you took out your plan within the last 6 months then you wouldn't be able to sell the phone within this period, as @garybs29 has advised.

If the device is less than 6 months old it cannot actually be sold as it's still EE's property so if it's within that time frame I highly doubt anything can be done

@rhianj2379 ,sorry about you losing your mother and have to pay for the funeral, but what do you mean by asset watch?

Which phone did you have?

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using web based app or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

I had the iPhone 16 pro max. I didn’t know what asset watch was - but apparently we have an interest in it. It’s a bit like blacklisting.

Do you mean "watch" as a timepiece or that somebody is keeping an eye on it?
