Are EE pricing things to force me to leave...??

I've been with EE since they formed, but now it feels like EE is trying to make me leave with some crazy pricing now.

When my second line fixed contract expires in December the price is increasing by over 50%. Spent literally hours trying to talk to someone to see what can be done. Eventually, after having to explain things over and over again, the best offer they had was an increase of just under 50% for a new long contract that is way more than will ever be used. Basically being charged more for "incentives" that everyone knows are not going to be necessary (ave. data use 3 to 4 gb, lowest offer 25gb. Data gifting is not an incentive when everyone is forced to have 8x what they need!) I was told it was a "fantastic offer" that I was lucky to get. Basically take it or leave. That was followed by the vague threat that if I ever return I'll be charged more.

The only incentive that's worth anything now is the Inclusive Extra you get with smart plans. But it seems EE are actively trying to price you out of them anyway.

Of course... should I take out broadband... Well that's different. Now you have their attention. (My broadband is included in my property so not much of an incentive). Sadly it seems that EE just aren't interested in keeping ordinary customers. Full household broadband or business customers only please. Forget the guy on the street, just price him out until he either gives us a ludicrous amount of money or has to leave. Just one example of customer treatment plummeting. It's no way to treat customers and it's a real shame after so many years.

Curious to know how you got on, @magicpurplefair . I'm in the same position. Been with EE from the start and now feel I'm being forced out. When my second line contract ends in December, it's cost will increase by just under 50%. Hours spent trying to get through to upgrades and retentions just to basically be told it's a "fantastic" offer and I am lucky to have it, take it or leave.

Oh.... unless you take broadband. (My broadband is included in my rent, so that's not even an option)

It's sad really - customer loyalty means nothing. Seems that unless you are a business or broadband customer, you're of no interest to EE anymore.

Hi @MeeLeeG

Welcome to the Community!

We want to make sure we find all of our customers the very best offer when it is time to upgrade, so it is disappointing to hear you've been left feeling unhappy about the options we have available.

We certainly would hate to say goodbye, but we understand you have to do what you think is best for your needs.

@MeeLeeG  What’s the actual price?   A 50% increase could be £5 it could be £50.

Hi @MeeLeeG @Chris_B

I never understand these complaints when you can get a SIM only 50GB deal for £18 or 150GB for £22 on EE.

https://ee.co.uk/mobile/sim-only-deals

You want the best network then you pay for it. You want a cheap poor network then go to 3.

Thanks
