This has popped up on my upgrades page. I already have a SIM only contract with my old iphone 12.

Does this mean I can have a new phone with another contract to run alongside my existing account?

I cant really see the point of that.

I wanted to buy a new phone but it wont let me buy the phone on its own, I have to take out a new contract which I dont want.

Better to buy a SIM-free phone outright from an online retailer like Amazon.
