Account ownership

i’ve bought a phone on contract under my fathers name because i wasn’t eligible to buy one yet. and now both of our account are together and if i ever need to go to EE to replace my sim card or anything. i will always need him there as he is the account holder.

i would like to know if there is a way if i can separate both of our accounts instead of them being together. it’ll just make things easier in the long run. and i would like to know what i can and can’t do if i get this done

i spoke to EE at the store and they said i could do it online through 150 but i’m not sure the about the consequences if i do change this account ownership

The phone contract ends in december 2024

@Sohail786 : The current owner of the account needs to call CS with both of you available on the line to effect a change of ownership. The other person will need to pass a credit check. They will then be paying for that contract. If you can't do it together CS will give the current owner a password for the other to quote when they call.

@Sohail786   You will loose the 2nd line discount that your contract currently has once this is moved to an account that’s in your name the price will increase by 10%.

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

so when the contract ends do i have to call EE about this for them to change or can i just go into the store and get it done there.

if i can only do it through EE on the phone can it just be me on the phone with them or does my father have to be with me as well.

how long will this process take?

Hi @Sohail786 Our customer service team don't need to speak to you both at the same time, they can take some info from the account holder, then speak to yourself to take your details.

To speak to our customer service team, you'd just need to dial 150 from an EE phone or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Although I don't have an exact time frame for the account to fully transfer into your name, our customer service guides should be able to give you a time frame.
