Did you mean:

Accidentally cancelled my contract early

Charlottegreech

Can someone please help! I was browsing in my EE app and accidentally clicked “leave EE” suddenly I got a text message telling me the charge for ending my contact early is £987 and it’ll show on my final bill.
Does this mean I’ve actually cancelled my contract and can it be reversed at all?
I did call customer services they said to call back in 24 hours as sometimes it doesn’t appear on their end straight away but I’m so worried now.

Hi @Charlottegreech,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Hey @Charlottegreech

It sounds like you've requested the information to cancel your account . EE then share what your termination fee would be.

In order to leave, you either need to get a PAC (taking your number elsewhere) or STAC (leaving but not taking your number) code which you'd then give to another company in order to cancel / port your service.

The only other way to cancel is to give 30 days notice to EE which they'd insist you speak to an agent about.

So don't think you've done anything other than generate your early termination fee information.

If you do nothing, you'll continue BAU.

A standard disconnection takes 30days so you have 3+ weeks to reverse any disconnection that has been requested

What is the exact wording of the text message you received?

Thank you for this I feel a little better now!

Thank you for helping me! I’ll copy and paste below for you.

Hi from EE, your total charge for ending your contract early for (phone number) is £987.63. This will show on your final EE bill, find out more here ee.co.uk/leavingus Thanks

Hi @Charlottegreech,

That looks like a standard information text, but I'd recommend getting back in touch as advised just to double check.

You haven't cancelled your contract. You have just requested the info, namely the cost, should you decide to cancel. You many only cancel by calling CS & giving 30-days notice or by using your PAC or STAC to move to another network.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

Hi I did the same mistake and want to know did everything get sorted for you and that it was just an info text

Thanks

Hello! Yes I let them know and I was really worried that it was going to come out of my next phone bill but it didn’t it was just an information message in the end!
