Would anyone be able to help. I am trying to upgrade my phone on the EE app to upgrade to the new iPhone 14 pro. I have generated a new perk code to get the 20% discount however each time I add the code into the discounts box it’s comes up with a message saying invalid code. The perk code is a brand new code and I have even generated another code and that one also says invalid. My new contract is more than my old one so that shouldn’t be an issue and also I am eligible for a free upgrade. When I have done this in the past I have never had an issue. Has anyone any experience with this? I have also tried doing it online incase it was the app and it’s still saying the same.
Any help would be appreciated

Hi @Bradders87
Are you out of contract now?
Is the plan already discounted or are you trading in your current phone?

Hi
my official contract end date is December this year however I can upgrade now for no cost by trading in my current phone as part of my plan. My current plan has the 20% perk on from when I originally took it out however my understanding is this would then be a new contract I’m taking out .
Thanks

Unfortunately Perks codes can only be used for new customers taking out new contracts. They can’t be used for upgrades. You’d have to cancel the contract you’ve currently got and take a brand new one to be able to apply it.

@Clairegreensto1 They can be used for upgrades where are you getting that information from.
@Bradders87 The issue is the perk code can not be used with the trade in offer.

Apologies - I meant the yearly upgrade trade in offer. They can only be used with a standard “upgrade” whereby you take out a brand new contract at the official end of your plan - which in most cases in 2 years.

@Clairegreensto1 You can still trade in but you can not have the trade in discount with any other discount. Ie perk discount. The trade in cost of the device will go towards any upfront cost or the credit will be placed on your account to go towards future bills.

Sorry to be a pain just clarifying. If I upgrade now by trading in my phone it doesn’t look like there is any benefit of doing it apart from getting a new phone. There doesn’t appear to be any discount going into bill moving forward & I would loose my 20% perk discount with new contract. I currently am on most expensive plan with trade in anytime and 20% perk. So if I upgrade today I’m loosing the perk I will have a £20 ish higher bill a month all for a new iPhone. I may aswell wait until my contract runs out in Dec, then take out new contract then being able to use 20% perk and sell my phone and make money for the phone. I looked at a new customer offer and new customer offers are far cheaper than what I’m being offered with an upgrade, I’m currently being offered £88 a month to trade in with no upfront cost where as a new customer offer is with trade in around £70 a month. Seems like the trade in anytime offer isn’t really worth it as only saves u a couple months upfront payment towards end of contract
