what is the most seamless way of arranging FTTP installation when moving home

Hi,

I am moving into a newbuild home on the 21st of may and i have to have FTTP installed by an engineer.
How do i arrange this? when ordering a full fibre package from i can activate it up until that date - does that mean an engineer will be able to attend that day, is that something that EE arranges on the same day as activation. or is this something id have to arrange with Openreach ?

Thanks

Usually the line is activated by midnight on the day the eng. comes to install. It takes about 2 weeks from ordering.

You arrange nowt with OR. You are not their cust. You do everything thro' your intended ISP.

Are you already with EE at your current place? If so, what BB plan do you have?

@DoubleFacer Are you sure that the new build does not have the Fibre and the ONT installed already ready to be assigned to whatever ISP that can use. Some home builders take care off all the utilities to be available at the build stage.

You order the package Broadband Speed that you require and if that is OR Openreach based on the Fibre network then EE maybe able to supply it to you, at the order stage you will be given the proposed date, not fixed in stone and may have to be adjusted if required etc....

You have now posted, this part say's it's all done ""ONT exists with no active service. A spare port is available. A new ONT may be ordered."" So all that is required in theory is order / get a hub / connect it up when you are told that your fibre is activated....

I a not currently with EE, if i understand correctly though an engineer will also have to attend after my move in date to install the junction box inside the building?

the address checker gives me this:

Our records show the following FTTP network service information for these premises:-Single Dwelling Unit Residential UG Feed with no anticipated issues.

ONT exists with no active service. A spare port is available. A new ONT may be ordered.

For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (VDSL or G.fast) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.

If you decide to place an order for a WBC fibre product, an appointment may be required for an engineer to visit the end user's premises to supply the service

In order to be eligible for handback, downstream speed should be less than Downstream Handback Threshold values.

ADSL, ADSL2+ and SOADSL availability: If shown at FTTP or SOGEA premises,ADSL, ADSL2+ and SOADSL are not available to order due to WLR Withdrawal stop sell rules.CPs should order FTTP or SOGEA. Copper products are only available by exception.

The FTTP ONT is already present at your new home. So all it needs is to be activated by OR & EE.

What speed Full Fibre will you be ordering? If it is the 1.6 Gig plan the ONT might need changing if it is only 1 Gig.
