Hello
so on Friday Sept 12th we switched to the 1.6gb made for gamers bundle with the smart hub pro. Previously we were with BT.
I went to check that my Xbox that’s on a wired connection was fine and I’ve got NAT type moderate and no upnp. Never had this issue with the 9 years I was with BT.
I’ve already searched the forum and seen this has been a problem for a while now so feel like there must be a fix.
I have tried turning upnp on and off and restarting the router but that hasn’t worked. Seems to be a lot of people suggesting opening ports but that does not seem to work. The switching upnp on and off is about the limit of my technical capabilities. Also tried turning wifi enhancer off as seen that might be the issue.
i have seen this is an issue that effects people coming from BT to EE.
This should be just plug and play so if anyone knows any easy and quick solutions that would be great. Otherwise I guess it’s more time wasted calling customer services.

Hi Jim - whilst this is a fix for the user, it doesn't tackle to problem.
EE/BT is the largest broadband provider in the UK and are ignoring issues with UPnP in forums like these - i raised this in the community nearly a year ago and still doesn't seem to be a fix.
Very poor from EE

@TommyChrist24 What is it that you have as a EE Supplied router and current FW on it, as posted before EE fixed it back FW version, if that works?

The Router i had issues with was the Smart Hub Plus (see image) - do you know if there has been firmware been released for this within the last year to fix the UPnP issue? as i can see from other users on other forums that FW was released but some users still experiencing issues?
do you happen to have FW notes so we can see exactly what was fixed?

@TommyChrist24 : The LH router is the EE Smart Hub (2023) (SH20A). It is a badge-engineered version of the BT Smart Hub 2 & has much the same functionality.
The RH router is the EE Smart Hub Plus (SH30A, SH31B or SH32B).
See them in Set up your Home Broadband EE Router,

the one i tested UPnP with was the RH router you have advised on - back in Jan 2025 this was the router that has the UPnP issues in which i had to switch back to my (now very outdated) 'Smart Router' (white) which does not experience the UPnP issues the RH router had.
given that it's been nearly a year, i will test this out today with the RH router and report back once i can clarify if the issue persists
