When I switch on a device with a wired connection to my router (desktop or TV) there is a delay of several seconds before a connection is established. Reliability and speed are excellent when connected but I did not experience this lag when I was previously with BT.
Cana anyone shed any light on this?

I’ve just moved over from BT to EE and have been having this same issue with my Sony Smart TV which wasn’t happening when I had BT.
I did have a play around with the settings as the 30sec connection delay was starting to do my head in….so I unplugged the Ethernet cable and connected the TV to the WiFi, once the connection was made and saved I reconnected the cable. What I find happens now is when the TV comes out of standby it connects really quickly to the WiFi then after 30sec or so it switches to the Ethernet cable connect so now I don’t have an lag waiting for the internet to connect

@jbeer There is NO way round this, just search the Forum for Tp-Link TL-SG105S.

Well my solution works for me, no latency on the TVs connection to the internet as soon as it comes out of standby then when the wired connection connects it takes over.
as I said this solution works for my situation

@imacken The latest EE Smarthub+ with version of FW below still has the 30 second delay on connection with Ethernet direct to the Router port, tested it about 4 days ago when trouble shooting all the other issues that the update produced and can confirm with the switch in place it is still at instant connect. Pro version that you have still seems to be the latest reported on the Forum.
OP replied and can see that if the TV does operate that way then yes a good way to do it also.
FW: r2.68.18-R-1303195-PROD-83002 and the gui is at App version 2.36.4. 11/02/2025

Thanks for the feedback, I'll ask the Hub developers what is happening about this.
