When I switch on a device with a wired connection to my router (desktop or TV) there is a delay of several seconds before a connection is established. Reliability and speed are excellent when connected but I did not experience this lag when I was previously with BT.
Cana anyone shed any light on this?

@Neil0 This is normal. A connection has to be established before using said connection. Oh the joys of first world problems.

The Smart Hub 2 definitely established a wired connection a lot faster to my PC. than my current Smart Hub Plus, it's mostly like a firmware issue just needs tuning.

I have the same problem with the new EE hub. It takes up to a minute to make the ethernet connection after wake from sleep.
BT SH2 was immediate.

I know this is a 1st world problem, but does no one have any suggestions on how to solve this irritating issue?

Did you get anywhere with this? I have the same thing happening on the smart hub plus, with wired connections taking anywhere up to 60 seconds to negotiate an active connection.

I have a Smart Hub Pro on the way, so we’ll see if that makes any difference.

So, the new Smart Hub Pro made no difference to the issue, despite what the EE engineer suggested.

@imacken The EE Smarthub+ takes around 20 seconds on both Ethernet and Wireless to establish a network connection, and we now know that the Pro version is following suit for the Ethernet delay on connecting, have you also managed to test what it is like for the wireless connecting of a device?
