Wifi Speed Cababilty of BT Smart Hub 2

What wifi speeds is the Smart Hub 2 capable of? I'm on Full Fube 500, but can't get more than 260 on my mobile phone, prior to this I was on Full Fibre 150 and was getting 140 on my phone, the only difference is I've taken on EE TV, what the experience of others?

Cheers

@Admdwj The hub is well capable of the 500mb/s speed that you quote, The device that you use determines the speed, if you wish to test the wireless wi-fi speed, then you have to make sure that this is the only device that is switched on. 260mb/s would be the normal for a 2x2 mobile phone with wireless N wi-fi4 capable, you need to check out your phone spec. Ethernet connected laptop running same speed test if you get 500mb/s or about then you know you router can run at full speeds.

Thanks, sadly I don't have any devices that I can connect via Ethernet to the Hub.

Whilst I haven't switched off all other WiFi connected devices i just would have expected the speeds on my phone to have increased more than 260, given that i was getting over 90% of the Full Fibre 150 speed and that the only change to connected devices is that I now have EE TV.

@Admdwj It does not work that way! Wi-Fi is a shared network that's why it is important to switch devices off, you can only find out that way, and if the details i gave and your phone cannot do it faster then that is it. Test about 6' away from your router, there are way to many variables to get an accurate reading... HTH

Edit: Link below to all the information on the router.

@Admdwj   the BT Smart Hub 2 is a WiFi5 device, the max speed over WiFi is about 440Mbps

Hi, I’ve just upgraded my package to the full fibre 900, and have the smart hub 2, should I be using another hub?

@Admdwj   Do you mean the BT Smart Hub 2?

There is no EE Smart Hub 2, you should have the EE Smart Hub plus.

@1Brown The BT Smarthub2 is capable of the 900mb/s speed on both Ethernet and Wireless, it will only be your devices that may not get you speed on the Wireless Wi-Fi side.

@JimM11 : You won't reach 900 Meg over the WiFi5 of the BT SH2.
