Wifi Extender Pro 7 - Wired connection to hub rather than WIFI

Can someone actually confirm that a Wired Ethernet connection to the Wifi Extender Pro 7 should work please?

I originally set it up and synced it to the router on WIFI , moved it , plugged it into Ethernet and it didn't work and moaned that it was too far away.

I've tried to factory reset it and it does not work by putting a pin in the reset button.

I've got it back near the router and both devices now have Aqua steady lights.  But the EE app still doesn't think it's got an extender configured !

Is it me or is this hardware/firmware just crap?

How can I get back to the start and sync via Ethernet please?

@maka74 Use the web manager interface and in advanced wireless you will see the extender tab and then also wither it is wireless or wired connected also. https://192.168.1.254 to get to it.

Yes, wired backhaul from an extender should work.
