WiFi cams not connecting

Not sure if this is the right place to post, so forgive me if not. I've just upgraded to EE full fibre but my wifi security cameras no longer connect to the network. I've read that I need to change my android phone back to 2.4 from 5.0 but have no idea how to. I don't want to mess up all the devices that are connected correctly but the wifi cameras go via an app on my phone to set them up. Can anyone explain in very simple steps how I can do this without renaming everything which will be a right pain if I have to. I've looked in the router settings and can see most of what's connected (some just say unknown so I've no idea what they are!) but I've no idea how to change my phone back to 2.4, and don't want to stuff if all up. Any guidance would be very gratefully received.

Thank you.

Yes already tried that as that was my first thought.

@Jasonwho1974 If you get time logon to the router, take look at the wireless security, if it is on wpa3, change to wpa2 - personal, save change, and you may have to reboot the router.

I realise this reply is 18 months after the initial question was asked by Buckleberry, but having found a solution I thought I would post it.

I have 6 Hive cameras (4 indoor / 2 outside) that worked fine with my old BT Smarthub 2 and ADSL connection.  I upgraded to EE FTTP @900Mbps and a EE WifI 7 Smart Hub Pro + Wifi  Pro mesh and everything worked with the new network running WPA3 EXCEPT my Hive cameras.  I tried repeatedly to connect 2 different cameras varying different elements  (thereby deleting the old wifi details) but they would not connect.  BUT note that my 360 Hive hub connected ok.  I then activated the compatibility mode network, allowing WPA2 clients to connect but that did not help (nor did deactivating 5GHz).

However, I then changed the name (SSID/passwords) of the compatibility mode to my old BT router, immediately the 4 Hive cameras I had not touched joined the network and became fully functional.  I then took my old router and the two recalcitrant cameras to a friend with BT ADSL.  Hooked up my old BTSmartHub 2 and the cameras joined that networked straightaway following usual the networking onboarding process.  I then took those cameras home et viola(!) they joined the EE compatibility network that was broadcasting the old network SSID too.

I am not sure of the underlying reason for this behaviour, but I guess that Hive have not been updating the wifi s/w stack in the cameras once they were announced EoL @1 Aug 2025.   Whereas the Hive Hub etc is receiving updates.

Don't get me started on my thoughts of Hive abandoning a large segment of their user base who paid a huge amount of money for those perfect functional and aesthetically pleasing cameras...

@Anomander As long as you got it working, all that matters.
