Where do I pay cancellation charges for broadband?

Hi,

I have recently moved abroad and have cancelled my broadband account with EE. I called them on the 5th to have it cancelled. As I was still in contract, I was told that I needed to pay cancellation charges as well as the services for 30 days after I told them about the cancellation. However, my old housemates have switched providers, and the installation was done on the 11th, so EE has registered this as a switch in provider rather than a full cancellation. The old equipment was posted yesterday (15th), but I have not received a formal statement detailing all the charges that I need to pay. My last bill was issued on the 6th of August, and I have paid that. There's nothing on my account that says I have to pay any cancellation charges, just that I have paid my most recent bill. So where am I supposed to pay, and when am I supposed to pay this by?

By the very fact that that the BB there has been switched to another provider means that your BB contract has been auto (fully) cancelled. As you were still within your contract makes you liable to pay Early Termination Fees.

You will be sent your final bill to your UK addy by your next bill date at the latest. It will detail how much you need to pay, how to pay & by when. It's up to you to arrange to get that bill or the info in it to where you are now.

Hi, thanks for letting me know. Do you know if they'll also send me an email copy of the final bill? It seems a bit ridiculous that EE insists on paperless bills when you're in contract, only to send a paper one for the final one.

No, not of the bill itself but they might send an email & SMS that the bill is ready. You might still be able to see the bill in your online a/c.
