What causes this? - random devices won't connect to wi-fi while some will.

So this happened yesterday. First, one of my Ring cameras was suddenly offline. I tried everything but it would only connect to my Ring Chime Pro and not to regular wi-fi.

I figured I'd take a look later on as to what was causing it. Cue later on and my iPhone and iPad suddenly have no wi-fi connection, while my Alexas, Mac and other devices do. I started thinking I was having a bit of a nightmare with faulty devices.

I rebooted the main hub and everything connected to wi-fi again as normal. So everything is fine now. But what is happening that suddenly some devices will connect for a second or two to wi-fi and then lose it again until the Router is rebooted?

It's obviously just out of curiosity now as it's working. But I'd love to know what goes on? Cheers

if it’s anything like my ring doorbell 3 plus, it’s because the routers wifi 7 tech is way more advanced than my ring device.  have you tried enabling the compatible wifi access point to broadcast in the routers settings then have the ring device join that?

Try setting up Compatible WiFi on the router under Advanced > Wireless Settings (it defaults to 2.4 GHz & WPA2) & connect your problematic 2.4 GHz devices to that.
