Waiting for openreach or should I switch to virgin

I moved into my new flat 2 weeks ago and placed an order for 900 broadband 9 days ago. Everything is already installed from openreach and from what I can see it's just a case of send me the router and switch me on as the ONT is installed.

Now it seems that I have to wait until July the 10th for openreach to come around  to survey the property. The annoying issue is that the previous tennant was an EE customer

Virgin Media could have me up and running in 4 days and I am starting to think that I should jump ship before my cooling off period ends. I realise that this is an openreach issue and not under the control of EE but it sure is frustrating trying to run everything from a hotspotted  mobile phone. Is there anything I can do to help speed things along?

@kayakmoose   have you spoken to the previous occupant's.

Another probable situation, depending on when they moved out is that they cancelled their service in early June, and with their cancellation policy you cant use the same line until that cancellation completes.

Maybe if you call EE and explore possibilities a 4/5G solution to keep you going might be possible until you can use the full fibre line.
