My broadband is up in May and I want to get the best deal and a new router so I am happy to take out another contract. But the only contract EE offer at my current address is 70 and I am currently on >300! What could be going on?

It looks like it. G.Fast is still available there but I don't think EE is now offering it. They now will only offer FTTP (Full Fibre) if it is available which it isn't for you or VDSL when FTTP isn't available there.

To continue to get those speeds you can only stay on your present G.Fast contract w/out any change at all.

I reckon you're currently on G.Fast & EE will only offer you VDSL2. Do you currently have the white EE Smart Router?

What does BT Wholesale Broadband Availability Checker estimate for your phone number? Post just the whole table and the line above it, blanking out your phone number. If it doesn't recognise your phone number or you don't have one, use the Address Checker.

I am currently with EE. Does that mean that they are no longer offering the G.Fast?

Yes, I do have the white router and upgraded to 300 in May 2023. I have been with EE here for 6 years.

Thanks for the clarification. I really want one of the new routers as I can't manage mine through the app and I wanted to use the content filtering. Do you know if there is a publicly available rollout plan for FTTP?

There's none I can see in the main Shrewsbury within the loop of the R. Severn. I can only see 4 cabs (out of 96) that have FTTP in the whole of Shrewsbury area. You could have a look at Openreach Fibre Checker

EDIT: Checking the vicinity of Cab 17, e.g. Hickorys Smokehouse, Full Fibre BB is Not Yet Available but you can ask to be kept updated.
