Sudden unexpected termination charges

I recently had an email from EE inviting me to an early upgrade to WiFi 7 in March 2025. It also said upgrading pre 31/3/25 avoided any annual price increase until April 2026.
My fibre broadband at the time was excellent but as I was ‘invited’ I upgraded. This appeared like some loyalty gesture and nothing in the offer indicated any early upgrade or termination fees . Suddenly when on holiday in Jamaica they’ve taken over £200 from my account instead of the expected £59.
I feel utterly ripped off by EE and am prepared to pursue this unfair practise to the regulator if necessary.
As I’m in Jamaica, the roaming charges have suddenly rocketed to £7.50 per day. Even EE staff say don’t bother. So my local eSIM does not allow international calls to EE. There no longer appears an email or chat facility in the latest app.
Can anyone advise me?

@Adhtz21 : Your roaming charges in Jamaica have nowt to do with your BB plan. They are determined by what mobile plan you are on. Have you also changed that?

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

@Adhtz21   alas there is no one on here with account access, so don't know what your Broadband billing issue may be, or why you have been charged termination fees. It sounds like one of those too good to be true scams, not heard of any loyalty offers.

Depending on how much longer you are out there, you may want to use Skype or similar on a WiFi connection to call customer services as it should be a lot cheaper than roaming charges.

At a guess the roaming charge increase iare as agreed in your mobile contract.

Thanks HTH…
Forgive me but what is the Skype number for customer services?

Thanks

Andy

Quite a few of us, have had that email. Myself included, but when I checked it out, the website & app both crashed with an error and when we got a private message through here, apparently it was sent in error.

@Adhtz21   the numbers are in the help page, but lines are closed now so no showing, they will show when CS is open.

Or you can use +44 800 079 8586 option 2.

Thanks but EE’s error is not my fault. I’m trying to install Skype as no reply from webform.

Thank you so much for the information, which I will use when I can eventually speak with them.

@Adhtz21 If you have been upgraded then have you had all the new hardware supplied to your billing address, you do not say!

You should also be able to login to your account, have a look at and download your bill to see what charges and all that it implies.
