Smart Hub Pro/Smart WiFi Pro guest network

I have the busiest home bundle with the WiFi 7 router (Smart Hub Pro) and provided with the mesh extender (Smart WiFi Pro), having come from BT I didn’t have a guest network on Smart Hub 2.

Now I had trouble with the hub WAN link dropping from 2.4Gbps to 100Mbps - seemed like a negotiation issue between the hub and the ONT. Working now but worth noting for others as all you know is reduced speeds until you go looking!

The Smart WiFi Pro doesn’t seem to want to connect to hub when there’s a wall/ceiling is in the way! Just stays flash orange despite working and paired when right next to the hub. Seen other threads about this and the app not working with pairing, but no conclusive solution other than using Ethernet, which is usually not what most people want/use. It’s also saying it’s too close in the only place I’ve managed to get it working.

The main reason for this thread is that I’ve noticed the guest network is only broadcasted from the hub not the Smart WiFi Pro? Only main network and compatibility is re-broadcasted.

I wanted to leave my IoT devices off the main network as this is technically what you should do security wise. Therefore naming the guest network the same as my old network name I could get the per device isolation and have them connect to the extender for a stronger signal, but they only connected to the hub with a weak signal.

Why is guest network not extended/broadcasted by Smart WiFi Pro mesh devices? Surely this seems like an oversight and should be a feature?

@NickUK   not sure you will get an answer, but you are not the first to ask why the Guest network is not broadcast via the extenders.
