Slow to identify Network

Having recently switched from BT to EE, the broadband service is pretty good.  Once it wakes up.  As has been reported in several places, the EE supplied hub is very slow to connect to the network, whether you use WIFI or Ethernet - I think dial up may have been quicker for those of you that remember dial up.  Once it does connect, the service is as you would expect.

I contacted EE service who seemed amazed at the problem - despite it being posted all over the web, and sent an engineer round, who established a specific connector to my PC in the hope it would resolve the problem.  However, it has not and the issue remains.  When will EE just admit their router/hub is just not as good as the BT one it replaced, and provide a replacement/upgrade.  In the meantime they should at least advise their customer support team that there is a problem with the router.

Hi @Mal7542

The hubs are basic and meet the service the same as most ISPs.

Most people will be happy and it will meet their needs, but if you want more or have higher demands then buy your own router is always the best course of action.

Thanks

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

@Mal7542 EE Smarthub+ onwards and not them all as the Plus wifi7 version no one has said about that yet, Pro is alleged quicker connecting wise, few work arounds for Ethernet connection, wireless wifi is what it is no way to sort that out!

FW is supposed to have a fix for it all and version was mentioned but somewhere down the road before it is going to appear as an released version!
